Template, not built for a specific business

Close out the job only once the customer's monitoring account actually works.

A crew installs a monitored device, whether that's a generator, an alarm panel, or an HVAC system, and pairs it to a remote-monitoring app. The pairing itself is easy to get "stuck" under the installer's own account instead of the customer's, so the job gets marked done while monitoring quietly never transfers. Weeks later the customer is charged for a service that was never actually receiving alerts. Separately, when a named storm or outage hits, every queued customer wants a callback at once, and the office can't keep up by phone alone. This page shows a small, working tool for both: a completion checklist that will not let a job close until the monitoring handoff is proven, and a storm-queue notifier that gives every customer already waiting an automatic position and window update.

Everything below is fictional. When this gets built for a real business, the checklist step mirrors whatever monitoring platform the device actually uses, and the storm-queue notifier connects to whatever SMS/email sending the business already has, it does not replace the office's own judgment about who gets called first.

Log a new install job

Open and completed jobs

Add to the service queue

Declare a storm or outage event

Notifies everyone currently in the queue with their position and an estimated response window (simulated, nothing is actually sent).

Queue, earliest first

Check a job's status

A customer enters their reference code, no login, and sees only what they need: whether their install is fully handed off, or their queue position and any notifications sent.

How this gets built for real

The checklist mirrors the real monitoring platform. Whatever the device's own app calls "enrollment" or "registration," the checklist's proof-of-transfer step is that exact screen, not a generic form.
The storm notifier is a trigger, not a dispatcher. It tells everyone already waiting where they stand the moment an event is declared, it does not decide who gets served first, that stays a human call.
Closing a job stays a deliberate action. The tool blocks the button until the proof exists, it does not fill in the proof itself.
