Opening an account without a card number on a faxed form

Right now, opening a credit account with ERS means downloading a two-page Credit Application PDF, filling it out by hand, and a separate Debit/Credit Card Charge Authorization PDF that asks a customer to write their full card number, expiration date, and CVV code in ink, then fax or email both back. Here is what an online version of that same process looks like, using the equipment categories your own site lists.

The equipment categories below are copied from your own site (compaction equipment, generators, aerial lifts, earth movers, pumps, welders, forklifts, and hand tools all appear on erswpb.com). ERS does not publish day or week rates anywhere online, so the prices shown are illustrative placeholders for this demo, not your real pricing, clearly labeled as such.

1. Request equipment & see an estimate

2. Open a credit account online

3. Authorize a payment method securely

What I'd flag before you roll this out

Your current authorization form has no dollar cap and gives no further notice. The "Debit/Credit Card Charge Authorization" PDF linked from your own homepage authorizes ERS "to bill to the above identified debit/credit card(s) all charges, known or unknown, accrued or unaccrued... up to an amount equal to 150% of the new retail price of each such Item," with no additional signature or notice required per transaction. This demo replaces that with a specific dollar cap the customer sees and sets themselves before authorizing anything, closer to how your major competitors' online account tools work.
The card number and CVV never touch this page's storage. This demo only keeps the last four digits and expiry, exactly the way a real tokenized processor works: the full number would go straight to something like Stripe or Authorize.net's own hosted field, never to ERS's own systems or a fax machine.
Every major branded competitor in your own market already does this online. Sunbelt Rentals (which has a West Palm Beach location) offers online commercial credit applications with a one-business-day response; Herc Rentals and Sunstate Equipment's "Navigator" both let a customer reserve equipment and apply for credit online; United Rentals, also present in the West Palm Beach/Riviera Beach area, has online equipment search across its fleet. This is a competitive-modernization gap, not evidence your current process has failed, no complaints were found against ERS specifically.
Rates shown here are illustrative, not yours. Nothing on erswpb.com publishes per-day or per-week equipment rates, so a real build would need your actual rate sheet before this could quote a real customer.
"Signed" here is a typed name and a timestamp, matching your own credit application's "authorized signature" line. A real build can add a certified e-signature provider if you want a stronger legal record than that.
This calculates and records, it doesn't book, invoice, or charge anything. No calendar, no live payment processor, no fax replacement is connected here, this is a working preview of the intake and authorization steps themselves.
