Independent work sample, built for one real business
Cook Siding & Window Company: a shared queue for open callbacks, and a checklist that will not call a job done until every step on it is checked
Cook Siding & Window has been in business since January 15, 1954 (72 years, per BBB) and holds an A+ BBB rating with accreditation since 1988, a strong long-term reputation. Its own public record shows two distinct, corroborated gaps underneath that reputation. A BBB complaint (filed 09/25/2024, status Answered/Unresolved) describes a broken bedroom window seal where the customer says they called at least five times and their HOA also contacted the company directly, with no callback; the company's own response cites "high call volume" as the reason, an admitted intake and tracking gap rather than a denial that the calls happened. Separately, a HomeAdvisor/Angi review describes a vinyl siding job completed with house wrap left off one entire side of the house, discovered only after the fact, taking over two months before a crew returned to remove the siding, install the missed wrap, and redo the job, with the customer charged full price for the correction. Cook Siding's own site (homepage, contact, about, careers all checked directly) has no customer portal, job-tracking system, or online scheduling, only a static "free estimate" form, consistent with a gap in how open items are tracked rather than handled by phone alone. This example shows two small, working tools built on the same idea: nothing gets forgotten because nothing depends on one person's memory.

Independent work sample, not affiliated with or endorsed by Cook Siding & Window Company, Inc. All customer names, callback entries, job checklists, and reference codes inside the tools below are fictional and clearly for illustration only. The business description and complaint pattern referenced here are drawn from the company's own published site, its BBB profile and complaint file, and a HomeAdvisor/Angi review, all checked directly.
Callback & follow-up log
Directly targets the BBB complaint's failure mode: every inbound call, HOA contact, or walkthrough note gets a timestamp and a committed follow-up date the moment it's logged, so "we called five times" versus "we have no record of the call" has a shared answer instead of an unresolvable dispute.
Log a new callback request
Open queue, most overdue first
Job completion checklist
Directly targets the HomeAdvisor complaint's failure mode: a job is only shown "Complete" once every scope item on it, including a step like house wrap on every elevation, is checked off, so a missed piece stays visible on the job itself instead of surfacing two months later when the homeowner notices it.

How this gets built for real
The reference code would be whatever Cook Siding already hands out. A real build reads from an existing work order or estimate number instead of inventing a new one for the homeowner to remember.
Scope items would be set per job type. A real build starts each job from a standard checklist for that job type (a siding install, a roof, a window swap), covering every elevation and step, so staff check items off instead of re-typing the list each time.
Overdue math here is a simple timer. A real build can text or page whoever is responsible once a callback crosses overdue, instead of relying on someone opening this page.
